Players Loss of Income Cover
Optional loss of income cover is available to individual players via the AFL - JLT scheme.
Extent of Cover:
The coverage applies for players who lose income due to injury arising from playing or training Football for the club.
1. loss of match payment
2. loss of income from their usual occupation
Benefits:
Benefits are for either or both (depending upon the cover selected);
1. certified match payments
&/or
2. a maximum of 80% of a players pre-injury actual taxable earnings
Up to the maximum benefit selected by the individual player
Benefit Period:
Maximum of 52 weeks
Waiting Period: Mandatory
1. Match Payments 21 day excess applies
2. Loss of Income 14 day excess applies
No benefits payable if player returns to work / generates income within the first 14 / 21 days
Cost:
1. Match Payments - Seniors & U18's - $164 per $100 of weekly benefits
(eg. $500 weekly benefit = $820 payable)
2. Loss of Income - Seniors - $164 per $100 of weekly benefits
(eg. $500 weekly benefit = $820 payable)
3. Loss of Income - U18's - $60 per $100 of weekly benefits
(eg. $500 weekly benefit = $300 payable)
